May 6, 2010 <br />Page 5 <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Friedl stated that the Family Fun Fest was very successful, as was the Botanic <br />Garden's Matilija Poppy Festival. <br />A sightseeing tour has been scheduled for the Senior Adult Master Plan Recreation <br />Implementation Committee to determine if existing District facilities can be used for <br />senior programming until a new facility can be built in Newbury Park. He will attend <br />the CARPD Conference starting May 13, and in his absence Administrator Hare will <br />be the acting General Manager. <br />In response to Lange's inquiry, Hare said that a full accounting of the costs incurred <br />due to the Persian New Year celebration is not yet complete, but he believes that <br />expenses were covered and the park protected. <br />Gibson requested a complete report of costs and reimbursements to the District <br />relative to Conejo Valley Days. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />Holt said she attended a recent meeting of the Conejo Coalition for Youth and <br />Families, at which the Youth Commission Leadership Conference was discussed. <br />She said it was a very productive exchange of information and ideas. She printed <br />and distributed recent Youth Outreach reports to members of coalition. <br />Lange noted that the Ventura County Board of Supervisors appointed Leroy Smith to <br />County Counsel. He replaces Noel Kiebaum, who is retiring. <br />F. Follow -Up Reports on Meetings/Conferences Attended <br />Holt said she spoke at both the recent Scandinavian Festival and Ride On open <br />house. <br />Gibson said the District will receive an award for Best Innovative Program at the <br />California Association of Recreation and Park District (CARPD) Conference and <br />noted that Lange, Jacobsen and he will attend the conference. <br />12.
