March 18, 2010 <br />Page 4 <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0 to approve updates <br />to the District's Five Year Strategic Plan (2010-2014). <br />C. Nomination of Ventura Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) <br />Independent Special District Member(s) —Resolution Number 031810-A <br />Friedl referenced the documentation, relative to the appointment of an alternate <br />member and a special district member of LAFCO to complete an unexpired term of <br />office. Director Lange, whose term is pending expiration, has indicated an interest in <br />continuing to serve on the Commission. <br />Lange said he currently serves at both the state and local levels in LAFCO. <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Short, and carried 5-0 to adopt Resolution <br />Number 03181 0 A, nominating George Lange to fill a new term of 11112011- <br />1/1/2015 for alternate special district member of the Ventura Local Agency <br />Formation Commission; that it be read in title only and all other readings be <br />waived. <br />9. ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION <br />None <br />10. REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />None <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Parks Division Report <br />Hare stated that staff has contacted Southern California Lacrosse representatives <br />and a meeting will be scheduled to discuss matters of mutual concern. On March 22 <br />the Planning Commission will discuss the proposed McCrea Visitors Center and <br />Rancho Potrero improvements. A new electric gaming system, NEOS 360, will <br />shortly be installed at Peppertree Park. Both Newbury Park American Youth Soccer <br />Organization (AYSO) and Conejo Youth Basketball Association (CYBA) have recently <br />made donations to the District. The labyrinth at Borchard Park is near completion. <br />The District has received approval for the proposed expansion of the Rancho Conejo <br />parking lot. <br />
