A pre -construction <br />conference will occur next week and work should commence in December. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Jones, and carried 5-0 to award bid to <br />Ventura Construction, Inc., in the amount of $694,000 plus an approximate 7% <br />contingency amount of $50,704, totaling $750,000 for demolition of existing <br />structures, purchase and installation of three new fabric sail -styled shade <br />structures, at Conejo Creek North Park. f=unds are available in the current <br />Fiscal Year Capital Budget. <br />C. Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with service Employees International <br />Union (SEIU) and Related Resolutions Amending CaIPERS Contract <br />Friedl acknowledged Scott Buchanan and .lane Fawke, CRPD Union Reps and <br />Gabby Suciu and Aram Agdaian, SEIU Reps, as audience members. He reviewed <br />the subject resolutions. <br />It was moved by Gibson, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0, to approve <br />Resolution 100313-A, adopting the MOU between the District and SEIU, <br />adjusting employee benefits, that it be read in title only and all further readings <br />be waived. <br />It was moved by Gibson, seconded by Jones, and carried 5-0, to approve <br />Resolution 100313-B, amending the District's contract with CalPERS, required <br />to implement the changes in the proposed MOU, that it be read in title only and <br />all further readings be waived. <br />It was moved by Gibson, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0, to approve <br />Resolution 100313-C, amending the District's contract with CalPERS, required <br />to implement the changes in the proposed MOU, that it be read in title only and <br />all further readings be waived. <br />Friedl thanked Lewanda, Howell and Almond for their work on the MOU and thanked <br />the union reps for their patience during this process. <br />10. REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />A. CARPD Letter Regarding an Introduction to California Association of <br />Recreation and Park Districts <br />Friedl referenced the CARPD letter; Gibson was chair of Legislative Outreach <br />Committee that initiated this process, and explained the letter is part of a re -branding <br />
