He asked for clarification about turf <br />reduction at the dog park. Huffer asked for clarification about the Water Einstein system <br />and waivers for watering operations (approved by the City and approvals pending by <br />CalAm and Calif. Water). Hare stated that CRPD staff has been meeting with the three <br />water agencies and School District staff to make water restrictions and waiver <br />processes similar between the three agencies. Jones thanked staff for how they've <br />handled this issue. <br />9. NEW ITEMS <br />A. Authorize Purchase of Booster Pump and Installation Services from Vaughn <br />Irrigation Services, Inc. in the Amount of $44,873 <br />Hare stated that the new system would include three smaller pumps rather than one <br />large pump, which will provide greater flexibility and efficiency. It will also increase <br />pressure slowly, which will minimize potential breaks to the irrigation system. Vaughn <br />Irrigation Services installed the original pump approximately 20 years ago, and also the <br />pump at Thousand Oaks Community Park in 2013. We are likely to get rebates from <br />Edison. Huffer commented that he is pleased that the new system will also improve the <br />quality of the turf. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Huffer and carried 5-0 to authorize <br />purchase of booster pump and Installation services from Vaughn Irrigation <br />Services, Inc. in the amount of $44,873. <br />10. REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />A. Capital improvements Fund Grant <br />Hare stated that over five grant cycles, we've given over $407,000 out to partner <br />groups. This year, we're giving out approximately $34,000 - one non-matching grant to <br />ETI and two matching grants, one to McCrea Ranch Foundation and one to ABDG. No <br />other grant applications were received. Huffer asked about how staff informs user <br />groups of grant availability. Hare explained the process. <br />B. Investment Report — March 2015 <br />C. Budget Performance Report -- May 2015 <br />Huffer asked about the status of our end of year budget. Lewanda stated that we <br />expect to be below in expenses but not at the same rate as we are trending now, as <br />there will be some catch-up when we accrue the June bills. <br />D.
