Recreation Division Report <br />Lindsey referenced Recreation Highlights =- fall programs begin on Sept. 15th. <br />Auditions for "The Sound of Music" have commenced. "Take Me Out to the <br />Ballgame" is a new event debuting at the Goebel Adult Community Center on <br />Friday, September 19th at 11:00 am. An area will replicate a real baseball stadium <br />and attendees will watch the Dodgers play the Cubs. <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />No report. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Friedl recommends canceling the September 1 6trn meeting to allow for Board <br />participation at the AWAVC event at the Reagan Library — work load has been <br />adjusted accordingly. On Friday, September 12th at 7:00 pm there will be a free <br />concert at the Kavli Theater to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Civic Arts Plaza <br />and to show off the newly installed sound system. On Friday, September 19th the <br />Alliance for the Arts will hold their annual VIP Reception. The City's 50th <br />Anniversaryh Celebration and Time Capsule Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, <br />October 7t from 6 — 8 pm. The 50th Anniversary Parade and Lego event is on <br />Saturday, September 27th. A hay wagon will be provided for Board members to <br />ride on during thetparade. A hard hat tour of the Westlake Park and Y is scheduled <br />for September 20 h. National and State Parks held a meeting in the Hillcrest <br />Center's Community Room yesterday to raise awareness of wildlife crossing along <br />
