Gibson thanked Shea Homes for the donation. <br />B. Adoption Of Job Description And Pay Range For Cultural Operations <br />Coordinator Position <br />Jorgensen stated that the new position of Cultural Operations Coordinator <br />was included in the adopted 2001-2002 Fiscal Year Budget, a job description <br />and salary survey were completed by consultant Don Becker, and the <br />position range and placement were established by the consultant and are <br />recommended by staff. <br />In response to Board inquiries, staff explained that the new position will report <br />to a Recreation Supervisor, the scope of the position will expand significantly <br />in terms of technical and administrative expertise, due to the move to the new <br />facilities at 401 Hillcrest which will include a black box theater available to <br />user groups, and the position will be funded with program fees and General <br />Fund budget. <br />Gibson expressed concern about cost and future impact on the budget. <br />Ward stated that the position was previously approved, and the current <br />recommendation was to approve the job description. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Jacobsen, and carried 5-0 to <br />adopt the job description, as submitted, and establish the pay range for <br />the new position of Cultural Operations Coordinator. <br />C. Authorization To Award A Contract To Channel Islands Paving, Inc. In <br />Amount Of $52,000, And A 10 Percent Contingency, For Construction Of <br />A Sport Court At Oakbrook Neighborhood Park <br />Sorensen summarized the bid process and project, and stated that Channel <br />Islands Paving, Inc. of Camarillo was the low bidder in an amount of $52,000. <br />In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, Pluth said that a dual size slab is 120 by <br />120 feet and facilitates more than one court plus a buffer zone. <br />
