Approval Of Modification Of Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) <br />With AYSO, Region #9 <br />Sorensen stated that AYSO, Region #9 is applying for grants to the American <br />Athletic Foundation and the United States Soccer Foundations for the <br />Purpose of contributing toward the construction of Conejo Creek South <br />(CCS) soccer facilities, and both grants are subject to the requirement that <br />AYSO either own the property or have a permanent or enduring use <br />agreement for the purpose of playing soccer. Staff is proposing a revised <br />MOU condition that would satisfy the requirement. Further, California <br />Lutheran University may be a participant on the grant applications. He <br />reviewed AYSO's use of CCS since 1975, and the partnership agreements <br />whereby AYSO has contributed significantly to capital development and <br />maintenance costs. He noted the presence of several AYSO <br />representatives. <br />It was moved by Lange and seconded by Berger, to modify the <br />AYSO/District MOU to provide AYSO #9 and community-based soccer <br />interests enduring and exclusive use of the soccer amenities at CCS in <br />accordance with Condition #1. <br />Holt requested that, for the record, the motion be amended to reflect the <br />words "in accordance with the propnsim changes to Condition #1 as <br />identified. <br />It was .moved by Lange, and seconded by Berger, to modify the <br />AYSO1District MOU to provide AYSO #9 and community-based soccer <br />interests enduring and exclusive use of the soccer amenities at CCS in <br />accordance with the proposed changes to Condition #1: "From <br />December 1, 2002 through December 1, 2012, AYSO #9 and other <br />community-based soccer groups have enduring and exclusive use of <br />the soccer amenities at Conejo Creek South. During periods of non - <br />soccer use, AYSO #9, community-based groups, and the District will <br />collaborate with the community interests to determine scheduling." <br />In response to Gibson's inquiry, Sorensen identified Club Soccer and <br />Westlake High School as examples of other community-based soccer <br />interests, and said that scheduling is done through AYSO.
