Goebel Senior Center Commission Meeting Minutes — March 28, 2001— <br />No Comment <br />C. City Of Thousand Oaks Correspondence Regarding Naming Of <br />Thousand Oaks Teen Center In Honor Of Alex Fiore <br />Lange stated that the City of Thousand Oaks City Council approved the <br />naming of the Teen Center in honor of Alex Fiore, and indicated his approval <br />of the action, but said he would prefer to keep Thousand Oaks as part of the <br />name. Holt concurred. Ward stated that the formal title will be Alex Fiore <br />Thousand Oaks Teen Center. <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Park Division Report <br />Sorensen reported that the Northwood Park focus group held its second <br />meeting, which was well attended and productive; and grading by Operating <br />Engineers has begun at the Dos Vientos Community Park site. <br />In response to Board inquiries, Sorensen said that a schedule of dedications <br />and groundbreaking ceremonies will be presented at the May 24 meeting, <br />and the date of the dog park dedication will be coordinated with the ETI <br />schedule. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Wiley reported that a spring dance for 78' and a graders is scheduled for <br />May 12, and a talent show for a graders is scheduled for May 19, both at the <br />Teen Center. He said the Cultural Unit's Young Artists Ensemble will present <br />"Into the Woods" May 18 through 20 at the Scherr Forum Theater. He <br />highlighted the Employee Family Picnic scheduled for May 20 at the <br />Thousand Oaks Community Park, and urged all to participate. <br />
