DEPARTMENT REPORTS A. Park Division Report Sorensen reported that Caltrans has approved sound walls adjacent to Conejo Creek North and Fiore Playfield, work is expected to commence within 12 months, but a sound wall for Conejo Creek South is doubtful. In response to Gibson's inquiry, Sorensen said that the gradual reopening of Borchard parking lot has begun, it is anticipated that the entire lot will be completed by the end of February, and the skateboard park is approximately 45 days from completion. In response to Lange's inquiry, Sorensen said that staff anticipates the dog park will open in April. In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, relative to plans of the Library Foundation, Ward said that the City is considering a library expansion, but all such projects would require the approval of the District. Jacobsen requested that the Board be kept informed. B. Recreation Division Report Benton reported that the Conejo Substance Abuse Prevention Authority (CSAPA) Parenting Fair, "Celebrate the Family," is scheduled for February 3 at Thousand Oaks High School; the Teen Center sponsored two recent field trips, a Lakers game on January 26 and a Mountain High Ski Resort snowboard trip on January 29- on February 10 two Valentine's Day parties are scheduled, a 4th through 6th grade party at Thousand Oaks Center and a 7th and 8th grade party at the Teen Center; the co-ed volleyball league begins February 4 at Borchard and Thousand Oaks Community Centers, with 36 teams participating; and the 2001 Teen Drama of "Flowers for Algernon" will open at the Arts Council Center on February 23.
