Report Of Investments — December 2000 - No Action <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Park Division Report <br />Sorensen reported that Caltrans has approved sound walls adjacent to <br />Conejo Creek North and Fiore Playfield, work is expected to commence <br />within 12 months, but a sound wall for Conejo Creek South is doubtful. <br />In response to Gibson's inquiry, Sorensen said that the gradual reopening of <br />Borchard parking lot has begun, it is anticipated that the entire lot will be <br />completed by the end of February, and the skateboard park is approximately <br />45 days from completion. <br />In response to Lange's inquiry, Sorensen said that staff anticipates the dog <br />park will open in April. <br />In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, relative to plans of the Library Foundation, <br />Ward said that the City is considering a library expansion, but all such <br />projects would require the approval of the District. Jacobsen requested that <br />the Board be kept informed. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Benton reported that the Conejo Substance Abuse Prevention Authority <br />(CSAPA) Parenting Fair, "Celebrate the Family," is scheduled for February 3 <br />at Thousand Oaks High School; the Teen Center sponsored two recent field <br />trips, a Lakers game on January 26 and a Mountain High Ski Resort <br />snowboard trip on January 29- on February 10 two Valentine's Day parties <br />are scheduled, a 4th through 6th grade party at Thousand Oaks Center and a <br />7th and 8th grade party at the Teen Center; the co-ed volleyball league begins <br />February 4 at Borchard and Thousand Oaks Community Centers, with 36 <br />teams participating; and the 2001 Teen Drama of "Flowers for Algernon" will <br />open at the Arts Council Center on February 23. <br />
