Recreation Division Highlights Page 2 of 5 Revised 01.2021
Conejo Community Center

Preschool/Prekindergarten
We are currently providing four preschool and prekindergarten cohorts this session. The kids are
enjoying learning through play both indoors and outdoors.
New Programs & Partners
We continue to find ways to be innovative and expand our class offerings. We have recently
welcomed aboard new contract instructors Born To Perform Theatre, Kids Lacrosse, and Karate
instructor Niki Wright.

Borchard Community Center
Over winter break, we ran three camps. QuaranTEAM started back up after the break, running five
days per week and is currently full. Borchard Skate Park programming has expanded to include
programming at the Thousand Oaks Center and the Sapwi Pump Track. Our core Saturday
morning skate classes filled within the first 6 minutes of registration this session.
Coming back from the winter break, Preschool started back up this week with two full classes.
Martial Arts will be starting next week as well. We have two pre-preschool classes that have been
continuously running.

Thousand Oaks Teen Center
Did you know that the Teen Center offers Zoom science classes that can count for school credit?
Chemistry, Physics, Biology are some of the subject areas. Dr. Steve Yoshinaga teaches 5 days a
week. Most students who register are homeschooled and their Academy or Charter Schools pay
for their registration fees. Each session Dr. Steve brings in $5000-$10,000 in revenue for the Teen
Center. Classes offered are year-round. Check out the Winter 2021 program guide on Page 24 to
see the class listings.
