First Amendment to Contract for Weed Abatement Services
Hare reported this first amendment is for the original 2017 contract in which the District
partnered with the Conejo Valley Unified School District, the City of Thousand Oaks and
COSCA to combine weed abatement responsibilities, which resulted in cost savings for the
agencies. The Ventura County Fire Department has identified additional parcels requiring
weed abatement; additional clearance is also necessary due to vegetative regrowth from late
season precipitation. This amendment will extend the contract by one year; it will also revise
the not -to -exceed amount due to the increased cost for the aforementioned additional areas
needing brushing.
It was moved by Nickles, seconded by Huffer, and carried 5-0 to authorize General
Manager to enter into the First Amendment with Venco Western, Inc. for weed
abatement services with a revised not -to -exceed amount of $1,080,026 for Conejo
Open Space Conservation Agency, Conejo Recreation and Park District, City of
Thousand Oaks, and Conejo Valley Unified School District owned parcels; and
extend the term of the contract one year to June 30, 2021
D.
