May 7, 2020 <br />Page 4 <br />E. Investment Report — February 2020 <br />F. 2020 General Survey Patron Response Summary <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Parks Division Report <br />Hare reported that districtwide paving projects started this past Monday. The Thousand <br />Oaks Center preschool project will commence on Monday, May 11th. The District received <br />a record ten (10) Capital Improvement Project Grant applications; there is a total of $137,000 <br />in requests; staff will come back to the Board in June with more information. Congratulations <br />to three Directors for doing so well (Cusworth #1; Nickles #2 and Huffer #10) in the recently - <br />held "Guess What the Public Wants" quiz; there were 46 entries. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Callis referenced Rec Highlights. Therapeutics did a first-time virtual games event via zoom; <br />there were 18 participants. Next up will be virtual Bingo and virtual Hangman. Discussions <br />are underway regarding the "Touch a Truck" and July 4t" events; they are likely to be <br />cancelled due to social distancing requirements. For Cinco de Mayo Patty Hamm had a <br />Taco Tuesday theme when distributing lunches to seniors. There was a virtual McCrea <br />Ranch docent meeting today. Staffing hours are still down in the Recreation Division. Callis <br />gave some details re: program and rental refunds. Staff is contemplating doing some fee- <br />based virtual programming over the summer. <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />Smith reported the audit for the year has begun, remotely; some policies and procedures are <br />being updated due to COVID 19 and staff working from home/ telecommuting. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Friedl reported the COSCA meeting scheduled for May 13 has been moved back to June; <br />the City is hoping it can be an "in person" meeting by then. He thanked staff for all their hard <br />work over the past weeks. Tomorrow at 1:00 pm Friedl will participate in a multi -Park agency <br />phone call with other local park professionals. The National Park and Recreation Association <br />(NRPA) is helping to write specific protocols and procedures as re -openings begin across <br />the country. <br />E. Directors Reports <br />Cusworth attended a Stagecoach Inn Board meeting and attended, as a volunteer, a McCrea <br />Ranch volunteer meeting. She sent grant applications, provided by Callis, to three local <br />museums. She is sponsoring a horse for the "Senior Concerns Meals on Wheels On-line <br />Derby" and would be happy to receive contributions and support. Nickles thanked the <br />Executive Team and Segedie for their flexibility, adaptability, creativity and continuity in <br />getting the job done. Lange attended a Zoom MRCA Board meeting yesterday with about 30 <br />
