C. Authorize General Manager to sign Grant Agreement with City of Thousand Oaks for Capital Improvements and Renovations at Alex Fiore Teen Center and Goebel Adult Community Center in an amount not to exceed $2.7 Million Hare discussed efforts by City and District staff over the past year or so to reinforce the cooperative relationship between the two agencies in the renovation, expansion, and operation of the Teen and Goebel Adult Community Centers. In June 2019, the District entered into several agreements with the City - an agreement rescinding the Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement, Land Lease and Operating Agreements, and a Grant Agreement for $300,000 for pre -construction activities. As a result of further discussions with City staff, it is proposed that the District enter into an additional grant agreement that would provide $2,700,000 for the construction of the improvements at the two centers. The City Council will consider the grant agreement at their October 22, 2019 meeting. If the grant is approved, the project will go out to bid in the next 2-3 months with construction beginning in Spring 2020 and a ribbon cutting in the Fall or early 2021. Hare announced that there will be a 30th anniversary celebration at the Teen Center on October 29 from 5:00-7:00 PM. It was moved by Nickles, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0 to: 1.
