Proposed Updates to Conejo Recreation and Park District’s Five-Year Strategic Plan <br />(2019-2023) <br /> <br />Friedl presented the proposed updates to the District’s Five-Year Strategic Plan for 2019- <br />2023. A discussion ensued regarding suggestions for further changes. Friedl will <br />incorporate the changes discussed and will prepare the final approved Strategic Plan. <br /> <br />It was moved by Cusworth, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0 to approve proposed <br />updates to the District’s Five-Year Strategic Plan 2019-2023. <br /> <br />10. REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br /> A. Budget Performance Report – January 2019 <br /> <br /> B. Investment Report – December 2018 <br /> <br /> C. Park Dedication Fee <br /> <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br /> <br />A. Parks Division Report <br /> <br />Hare discussed the great job staff has been doing with the rehabilitation efforts in the parks <br />and open space in response to the recent fires. Hare has been attending meetings and site <br />inspections with FEMA representatives regarding the repairs and grant opportunities to <br />enhance the damaged facilities as well as other facilities that can be mitigated for future <br />disasters. Hare fielded questions from the Board. <br /> <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br /> <br /> Callis referenced Recreation Highlights. The Spring Arts & Crafts Festival starts on March <br />2nd for two days. Conejo Theatre for Everyone is coming up this weekend. There will be a <br />science festival next week at the Teen Center. Goebel Adult Center will be closed for the <br />first three weeks in March for remodeling; Goebel Café and other portions will open after <br />the first week. Callis attended a two-hour bullying workshop with the Outreach staff and <br />about 40 children; this amazing program is paid for by CVUSD and CRPD and it’s a great <br />opportunity for middle school students. The summit for the Coalition for Youth and <br />Families is on February 27th; 30 people have RSVP’d so far but attendance will be capped <br />at 50. Callis fielded questions and comments from the Board. <br /> <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br /> <br /> Lewanda discussed the audit Request for Proposal process and the interesting questions <br />she’s received from potential proposers. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
