Parks Division Report <br />Hare's report included information on the progress of the Mitigated Negative Declaration for <br />Conejo Creek Southwest; plans are to bring it to the Board in a couple of months for adoption. <br />Oakbrook Neighborhood Park's playground was reopened about three weeks ago. As per <br />the Board's direction, after the last Board meeting where residents expressed their concerns <br />over the use of mulch at North Ranch Neighborhood Park, Hare prepared a revised concept <br />plan and sent it, along with an email, to the Homeowners Association (HOA) and concerned <br />residents on Thursday of last week. Hare has directed residents to contact their HOA reps <br />with feedback and is looking for these reps to work with CRPD staff. He has not yet heard <br />anything from the HOA and has received two comments from residents. He plans to come <br />back to Board with more to report at the next Board meeting on February 7th. The District <br />has won an award from California Park & Recreation Society (CPRS) for Sapwi Community <br />Trails Pak. The award will be presented on Friday, March 22nd at the CPRS Awards Banquet <br />in Sacramento. Board members are invited to attend. Awards applications for Sapwi Trails <br />have also been submitted to the National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) and the <br />American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Callis referenced Recreation Highlights. The Wellness fest hosted by the Goebel Adult <br />Community Center and Conejo Senior Volunteer Program had a great turnout; there were <br />60 vendors. Upcoming Goebel events include a Super Bowl Party and a Mardi Gras <br />Dance. The Conejo Community Center recently held a Daddy Daughter Princess Ball, <br />which, despite being rescheduled due to last November's fires, was sold out with 70 kids <br />and their Dads attending. The Safe Passage kids went on a field study trip to the <br />Discovery Cube; about 77 kids and 20-30 volunteers attended. Callis reviewed some of <br />the Elementary School Programs currently in place, including a lunchtime program at <br />Banyan, the afternoon recess program at Madrona and spoke to the possibility of <br />programming at Maple and Walnut Elementary schools. <br />
