Thousand Oaks Rotary Club Chili Cook -Off and Craft Brew Festival — 2019 Annual <br />Agreement and Permit Conditions, Conejo Creek Park <br />Hare reported this Agreement is almost exactly the same, with the exception of the event <br />dates. <br />Nelson Buss, Thousand Oaks Rotary Club President, said planned additions to this year's <br />event include an enhanced VIP experience, an expansion of the IUds Zone, expansion of the <br />craft beer experience, and an increase of 12-15 chili cooks this year. Last year, $57,000 went <br />to Rotary charities. <br />It was moved by Gibson, seconded by Lange, and carried 4-0 to: <br />1. Determine that Thousand Oaks Rotary Club Chili Cook -Off and Craft Brew <br />Festival for 2019 is categorically exempt from the California Environmental <br />Quality Act; and <br />2. Authorize General Manager to execute the Chili Cook -Off Agreement for 2019. <br />D. Conejo Valley Days — 2019 Annual Agreement and Permit Conditions Conejo Creek <br />Park <br />Hare reported this agreement is very similar to last year. Approximately $30,000 was raised <br />by 27 non -profits last year. <br />Frank Akrey, President of CVD, highlighted plans for this year's event and introduced <br />Veronica Browning, who was brought in two years ago to assist in making CVD more <br />relevant. He is hoping the City of Thousand Oaks approves a CVD parade this year. Hare <br />was thanked for assisting in making CVD into a non-profit and Akrey expressed gratitude to <br />the Board for their support. <br />It was moved by Huffer, seconded by Gibson, and carried 4-0 to: <br />1. Determine that Conejo Valley Days (CVD) for 2019 is categorically exempt from <br />the California Environmental Quality Act; and <br />2. Authorize the General Manager to execute the CVD Agreement for 2019 as <br />amended, i.e., on page 1 of the Agreement, Number 1, date changed To <br />Thursday, May 9, and on page 4, Number 10, "financial statements for the non- <br />profits partich3adho in.." <br />8. ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION <br />Friedl provided a brief PowerPoint presentation on the recent local fires. He gave details of <br />the use of the Teen Center as a Family Support Center after the Borderline shooting last <br />
