Friedl reported the Finance and Audit Committee will be <br />meeting next week; work product from attorneys and actuaries will be included in that <br />meeting. It is anticipated that an attorney who specializes in pensions and a trust <br />administrator will attend the June 7th Board meeting. <br />H. Authorization to Bind Excess Insurance for Workers' Compensation Claims <br />Above a Self -Insured Retention of $350,000 through Alliant Insurance Services <br />Lewanda reported the District is currently entirely self-insured for workers' <br />compensation claims. Staff determined that it would be fiscally responsible to <br />research insurance coverage for workers' compensation and has provided same for <br />the Board of Directors in the referenced staff report. The recommendation is to <br />purchase excess coverage with Alliant Insurance Services through California <br />Association for Park and Recreation Indemnity (CAPRI) at $73,000 with a $350,000 <br />self-insured retention (SIR.) These are premium indications only and will be finalized <br />to bindable quotes; if the quote changes substantially, staff will come back to the <br />Board for direction. <br />It was moved by Huffer, seconded by Lange, and carried 4-0 to move the action <br />as modirred, i.e., to Authorize the General Manager to execute documents <br />necessary to acquire excess insurance for workers' compensation claims <br />above a Self-insured Retention (SIR) of $350,000 with Alllant Insurance <br />Services through CAPRI <br />10.
