May 17, 2018 <br />Page 5 <br />A. Parks Division Report <br />No report. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Callis reported her team is busy planning for summer. This Saturday, there will be a <br />brand-new event at Thousand Oaks Community Center: "Kids Activity Summer <br />Camp Fair." The last of the annual "Districtwide Music Festivals" are being held this <br />week. This Saturday, the Teen Center will be hosting an "E -waste Day" from 10 am <br />to 2 pm. Aquatics is holding a "Water Safety Day" on Sunday, May 20th at the CLU <br />Pool. The "Senior of the Year Awards Banquet" will be on June 7th. The traditional <br />July 4th event held at the Cameron Center for District and City employees is being <br />transitioned to Conejo Community Park; the vision is to have all gather there for the <br />Concert in the Park and then to enjoy some fun activities prior to the fireworks <br />viewing. <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />Lewanda reported the District recently replaced some computer equipment as a <br />normal course of business; the total cost of $30,186 was slightly more than the <br />anticipated $28,634. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Friedl expressed gratitude for the hard work of District staff during this busy time. He <br />will be attending CSDA Legislative Days in Sacramento next Tuesday and <br />Wednesday; Hare will be acting GM during his absence. CRPD is compiling <br />information in preparation for a City ad hoc Council Committee meeting to address <br />current homelessness issues. <br />E. Directors' Reports & Follow -Up Reports on Meetings/Conferences Attended <br />Lange reported MRCA recently revised and expanded their ordinances associated <br />with MRCA properties and the potential impact of issues associated with the <br />homeless population. Lange invited the Board and staff to the upcoming MRCA <br />Volunteer Appreciation Day on Saturday, June 23rd from 1lam to 2 pm at King <br />Gillette Ranch. He attended some recent MRCA meetings, the VIP Sapwi Trails <br />Tour, Prom Again, and the Gratitude Circle ceremony honoring Richard Newman. <br />Jones attended the VIP Sapwi Trails Tour, Prom Again, the Gratitude Circle <br />ceremony and the Arbor Earth Day event at the Grant Brimhall Library. Jones is <br />currently involved in working with some residents and staff to effect some <br />improvements at Fiore Field. Huffer attended the VIP Sapwi Trails tour. <br />12.
