In the interest of public policy initiatives
underway, the Census Bureau added categories such as health status and possession of insurance.
AGE
GROSS POP
DISABILITY #
DISABILITY %
Under age 5
5,542
0
0%
5 to 17
23,670
1,017
4.2%
18 to 64
79,850
4,780
5.9%
65 and over
16,926
5647
33.3%
TOTAL
126,998
11,444
19%
Disability Census for Thousand Oaks as of 2015
The data below assumes a gross population of 128,888, a slight increase (1%) over 2010. Some children meet
developmental milestones more slowly than do others. The census numbers for this group are
unreliable and, in our opinion, far too low.
The data set above that we examined made an overall projection, as opposed to a distribution by type
of disability. Our source here was the US Census Bureau Fact Finder. While there are other sources
available, we would recommend the continued use of this source.
THE W T GR0
DBA RECREATION ACCESSIBILITY CONSULT
ONE SOURCE. INFINITE SOLUTIONS.
