CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 10, 2002 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Jacobsen called the meeting to order at 7:38 p.m., and Holt led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Holt, Jacobsen, and Lange <br />Directors Absent: Gibson <br />Staff Present: General Manager Ward, Administrators Jorgensen, Scott, and <br />Sorensen, Park Superintendent Marchesano, and Executive Secretary Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Barbara Kloster, Thousand Oaks, representing EVRT (Emergency Volunteer <br />Rescue Team), under the direction of Ventura County Animal Control, thanked the <br />District for the use of Conejo Creek equestrian site for training purposes. She'brieffy <br />reviewed the history, geographic area of responsibility, and mandate of the group, <br />and stated that the rescue service is not limited to horses, and funding is not an <br />issue. <br />Board members expressed their appreciation for the activities of the group. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />a. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />Referencing the Government Code, Section 54954.2, Ward posed an item for the <br />agenda that required immediate action by the Board of Directors. He said that it <br />came to the attention of staff subsequent to the posting of the agenda, and identified <br />it as item 8.D. Adoption of Resolution Number 101002-A, Authorizing an Agreement <br />and Memorandum of Understanding Between the City of Thousand Oaks and the <br />Conejo Recreation & Park District to Conduct Erosion Control Work Along the North <br />Fork Arroyo Conejo in Wildwood Park. <br />
