Cancelled classes were replaced with different types and levels of swim lessons to accommodate interest and need.
Dos Vientos Community Center (DVC) had waitlists for camps led by Pins and Needles (85) and Ride On (72), both of which are independent contractors who can only take a small number of participants per session. Cancelled classes
included 16 of 23 programs offered at White Oak Elementary which had low enrollment, as well as a wide variety of
independent contractor classes held at DVC. Most instructors had three or fewer of their offered programs cancelled.
Outdoor Recreation had waitlists for Little Folks (57), Creekside (39), Wildwood (18), and Newbury Park (9) Day Camps.
The Sports Department had its typical waitlists for Pickleball (88), Tennis (31), and Golf (12).
Therapeutic Recreation (TR) had waitlists for its Tween Summer Camp (31), Peer Mentor Camp (30), Kitchen Kapers
programs (22), Therapeutic Recreation Summer Day Camp (13), and many of its social events and outings.
Thousand Oaks Community Center (TOC) offered a wide variety of classes—many of which were led by independent
contractors—in an effort to see which types of activities might be popular among families who were not already
enrolled in other summer programs; a number of these classes were cancelled due to a lack of interest.
