Recreation & Community Services <br />Recreation Division Highlights Page 1 of 5 Revised 11.2022 <br /> <br />Recreation Division Highlights <br />Tuesday, November 22, 2022 <br />Therapeutic Recreation <br /> <br />Adult Social & Friends Program <br />The Adult Social & Friends program helped with the Therapeutic Recreation Unit’s submission of the CRPD Pumpkin Carving Contest. They enjoyed taking a field trip to Hillcrest Center and seeing the staff there. The Adult Social & Friends group started in March of 2020 as adults with special needs needed somewhere to go while their parents went to work. This program continues to run two days per week since adult day programs in the area are still not operating at full capacity. <br />Thankful Dinner (Friendsgiving) <br />The Therapeutic Recreation Unit hosted its annual Thanksgiving Dinner. We talked about how thankful we are for our jobs, our health, homes, family, friends, and the food we had. It’s also a time to express thanks! We are thankful for the community and Board of Directors for the continuous support for the Unit. <br />
