Recreation Division Highlights Page 2 of 5 Revised 11.2022
Dos Vientos Community Center

Thanksgiving Camps
Thanksgiving Camps are going great at the Dos Vientos Community Center. This week has brought some beautiful outdoor weather for our campers. We offered a variety of camps this Thanksgiving week:
• Archery Camp is a fun and interactive camp where they learn archery safety, how to shoot bows, as well as participate in fun crafts, and hikes. Archers are enjoying the opportunity to learn proper form and challenge their hand-eye coordination to help them hit targets.
• Winter Adventure camp is super fun for kids as they get to run, jump, and get all their energy out playing a multitude of sports, games, as well as make cute holiday themed crafts.
• Ninja Camp is an exciting new addition to the roster. They get to channel their inner ninja by completing fun challenges, learning nun chuck skills, playing fun games with nerf blasters, and making ninja-themed crafts. Thousand Oaks Teen Center
Annual Battle of the Bands
The Thousand Oaks Teen Center’s Annual High School Battle of the Bands will take place on Saturday, December 3, with doors opening at 7:00pm. Admission for this event will be $10 and it is open to all high-school-aged teens. Industry professionals will serve as judges and a $500 prize package will be awarded to the winner. Bands scheduled to compete include Black Moon Lilith, War Tomorrow, and Standby. The Battle of the Bands always provides memories that last a lifetime.
