Recreation Division Highlights Page 3 of 5 Revised 11.2022
Borchard Community Center
Preschool Thanksgiving Family Feast
On Thursday, November 17 & Friday, November 18, the Borchard Preschool program had their Family Thanksgiving Feast. Our 30 preschool kids and their families played basketball, soccer, and rode bikes around in the gym, delivered a fantastic performance of songs on stage, and had a potluck brunch.
Fall Break Camps
For the week of November 21, a total of 35 kids attended Fall Break camps at the Borchard Community Center. The kids enjoyed a week of friends, art, crafts, games, sports, nature, science experiments, skating, special surprises, and more! Thousand Oaks Community Center
Kids Swap Meet
On Saturday, November 19, the Thousand Oaks Community Center hosted our annual Kids Swap Meet! This year we had over 60 families sign up to sell used kids’ items including toys, clothing, books, and so much more!
Despite sudden strong winds that day, the majority of the families that signed up still came to sell, and we had a good turnout of people from the community coming to shop as well!
Saturday Night Fun: GLOW NITE!
Also on Saturday, November 19, we held our latest Saturday Night Fun, the return of the popular GLOW NITE! Parents dropped off their children for three and a half hours of spectacular, glowing fun! We filled the gym and our crafts room with black lights, allowing the kids to play games and make crafts like giant Pac-Man, glowing rocks, and glow relay race!
Holiday Classes & Winter Camps
Coming up soon for the Thousand Oaks Community Center, we are looking forward to some amazing camps and classes! To name a few, we have our Holiday Gift Making and Holiday Gift Baking Workshops, as well as our Winter Break Camp and Polar Bears Camp.
