In order to consolidate the election on that date, it is <br />necessary that the Board adopt a resolution ordering consolidation to be filed with the Clerk of the <br />Board of Supervisors. <br />Further, pursuant to Section 13307 of the State of California Elections Code, the Board acted in <br />July of 1980 to establish limitations regarding candidates' statements. Specifically, that each <br />candidate would not be allowed to submit a statement consisting of more than 200 words, that <br />each candidate who chooses to submit a candidate statement would pay a pro -rated share of the <br />cost of printing, and that charges for handling of the statement and additional mailing of <br />candidates' materials would not be borne by the district.
