CO11EJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />December 3, 2020 <br />6:00 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />M I N U T E S <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Lange called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm and Nava led the flag salute. <br />Directors Present: Cusworth, Huffer (via Zoom), Lange, Nickles <br />Directors Absent: Holt <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Callis, Hare and Smith, <br />IT Manager Segedie and Executive Assistant Reynders <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Thousand Oaks Community Center - Halloween Trick -or -Treat Drive-Thru <br />America Nava, Recreation Supervisor, Thousand Oaks Community Center, <br />reported on the development and reception of a safe and fun event for families — <br />"The Halloween Trick -or -Treat Drive-Thru." After careful planning, Conejo Creek <br />North Park was determined to be the perfect location for this event. There were <br />over 1,000 participants. 251 tickets were sold, and the event sold out in six days. <br />Volunteer participation was key to the success of the evening. After sharing details <br />of the layout and design, Tim Smith, Recreation Coordinator, provided information <br />on the specific booths and candy distribution methods. It was a thrilling experience <br />for the participants. A video was shown with photos from the evening's festivities. <br />Nava answered Board Member's questions and was thanked for her informative <br />presentation. <br />(Holt arrived 6:05 pm) <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Jason Abrams, Thousand Oaks, appeared via zoom and expressed concern over <br />dogs off leash at Banyan Park. <br />
