CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Lange called the meeting to order at 6.-00 pm and Megan, Brooklyn and Peyton Lange led the flag <br />salute. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Cusworth, Holt, Huffer, Lange, Nickles <br />Directors Absent: <br />Staff Present- General Manager Friedl, Administrators Callis, Hare, Smith, IT Manager <br />Segedie and Executive Assistant Reynders <br />SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Charlotte Holifield, California Special Districts Association (CSD) <br />Award Presentation <br />George Lange, Director of the Year Award <br />Conejo Recreation and Park District, Exceptional Public Outreach & Advocacy Award, <br />"Connecting the Community Through Unprecedented Times" <br />Chair Lange turned the "Special Presentations" portion of the meeting over to Vice Chair Nickles, <br />who introduced Charlotte Holifield, CSDA's Public Affairs Field Coordinator, Coastal Network, to <br />present two awards. The first award was presented to the District for "Exceptional Public Outreach <br />Advocacy." Holifield referenced programs such as the Senior Nutrition Program, Safe Passage <br />Lunch Program, and Food Share, among others, noting their important contributions to the <br />community at a time when they are especially needed. Friedl accepted on behalf of the District; he <br />expressed pride for the frontline staff of CRPD. Board members echoed Friedl's comments, giving <br />kudos to the Recreation Division staff for all they have done and continue to do to creatively and <br />innovatively engage with the community. <br />Holifield presented George Lange with the "Director of the Year Award," making note of his <br />longstanding leadership as evidenced by his service on the CRPD Board as well as on other <br />governing Boards, including the Mountains Recreation Conservation Authority (MRCA), Santa <br />Monica Mountains Conservancy (SMMC), Ventura County Local Agency Formation Commission <br />and the Moorpark Watershed, Parks, Recreation and Conservation Authority. She noted his <br />dedication to special district issues, in particular, and his desire to improve the community through <br />partnerships and cooperation amongst local agencies. <br />Director Lange thanked CSDA for the award; invited guests spoke on his behalf, including Jim Friedl, <br />on behalf of Dennis Gillette, Joe Edmiston, Rorie Skei, Don Robinson, Mike Berger, Ed Tiritelli, Gary <br />Hauser, Kirk Lange Judy Lange. Board members and Friedl added their thanks for Lange's many <br />years of service to the District and the community at large and expressed the pleasure they have <br />had serving with him on the CRPD Board. <br />
