CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING October 17, 2019 7:00 PM HILLCREST CENTER MINUTES 1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE Huffer called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. and Cusworth led the flag salute. 2. ROLL CALL Directors Present: Cusworth, Holt, Huffer, Lange, Nickles Directors Absent: Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Callis and Hare, IT Supervisor Segedie, and Administrative Assistant Dickson 3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS Conejo Valley Botanic Garden Beverly Brune gave a report on the history of the garden, the improvements made possible by the CRPD matching grant program, the various events at the garden, and the many volunteers who have worked over the years to make the garden beautiful and enjoyable for people of all ages. The Board expressed their appreciation for the garden and thanked Beverly for her presentation. Equestrian Trails, Inc. (ETI) Corral #37 Sharyn Henry gave a presentation about the history of ETI Corral #37, their mission to promote horsemanship, how it has evolved over the years, the various community programs and events at the Conejo Creek Equestrian facility, and the improvements made to the facility through a partnership with CRPD. She thanked the Board for their support. The Board expressed their support for expanding community interest in horsemanship and thanked Sharyn for her presentation. Lange encouraged the other Board members to attend the various events at the facility. 4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC Robert Fisher urged the Board to increase the parking at the Wildflower Playfields tennis courts. Sharon Lounsberry, representing the Senior League Recreational Tennis Players, presented a petition to the board for additional tennis courts, bathrooms, and parking at the Wildflower Playfields.
