(NOTE: at the time, these areas were NOT planned to be OLAs)
March 2013
As a result of increased community interest in enhancements to the existing dog park and the
possibility of additional off -leash areas in parks closer to their homes, the District adds a specific
goal within its Strategic Plan which provides that staff should seek input, ideas and solutions from
the public to examine the potential for additional off -leash dog areas and discuss the potential for
effective and sustainable improvements to the existing dog park.
Fall 2013
District staff holds several community meetings regarding dog/off-leash issues, including
reducing/eliminating illegal off -leash activity at District parks. With community input, the District
determined nine sites (including Kimber, Walnut Grove, and Estella Parks) to potentially become
OLAs with natural earth setting (no turf/irrigation).
ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES
403 West Hillcrest Drive • Thousand Oaks, CA 913604223
(805) 495-6471 • FAX: (805) 497-3199 • Email: parks@crpd.org • Website: www.crpd.org
