Scope 'of Geotechnical'Services
eco of r4l$_ :okF
The following is the scope of geotechnical services for development of the
2045 .Royal Avenue design and construction documents for the proposed Lang Ranch Park site.
Suite 125
Simi Valley, California 93065 Background Review
P S O M AS
LGC- will perform a background review of the site from a geotechnical
perspective. A background review is of paramount importance in
determining 'the anticipated geologic conditions at the site and is the first
step toward the planning of the field investigation. The study will consist of
a review of the following:
Available geotec cal.reporis and geologic literature, maps and other
readily available relevant materials pertinent to the site within the City
of Thousand Oaks and County of Ventura archives; and LGC's in-
house library. LGC also request any documents that the. District may
have in the District's possession or know of that may benefit LGC's
research.
A review of aerial photographs of the site to review the changes to the
site over time.
► Work with the 2nd Party Consultant to review and assess the scope of
work proposed by LGC and modify where deemed appropriate.
Geotechnical Field Investigation
LGC' pose to provide personnel, equipment, and materials to explore
the surface and near -subsurface conditions, perform geotechnical
laboratory testing, provide geotechnical engineering analyses, and prepare
geotechnical recommendation options for.the.project, as necessary. Our
recommended geotechnical remedial options will. be formulated to help
maintain (from a geotechnical poiaC of view) that the final design of the
Lang Ranch Park to be as close as possible to the original approved Master
Plan Design. This study does not include an evaluation of the potential for
soil and/or groundwater contamination at -the site. It is anticipated that the
2nd Party Consultant will spend time with LGC concurrently in the field to
review and assess the observed conditions. We anticipate that the majority
of their time will be spent with the large diameter borings for hands-on
evaluation of the site soils. Geotechnical tasks are described further in the
following subsections.
Exploration
► LGC will perform a geological reconnaissance of the site and
surrounding area.. LGC geologists will geologically map the site to
determine the fill/alluvium/landslide/bedrock contacts at the site, to
Scope of Services I LGC Geotechnical — 30
