January 19, 2006 <br />Page 4 <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Park Division Report <br />Friedl thanked Marchesano for his work on the dog park and related issues. <br />He reported that current plans calf for no parking on new turf at Conejo <br />Creek South, site of the upcoming Conejo Valley Days event; Conejo Valley <br />Little League is meeting with various local sports organizations to discuss <br />sharing of fields; staff has met with Conejo Open Space Conservation <br />Agency (COSCA) and City of Thousand Oaks representatives to move the <br />Rancho Potrero planning process forward; and staff is creating a visual <br />display for public viewing and comment of the Dos Vientos concept plan, <br />which includes six capital projects. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Benton reported that the Therapeutic Unit, in collaboration with RideOn, is <br />offering an "Introduction to Therapeutic Horseback Riding; over 70 teens <br />have signed up for the SAT pre-test scheduled for January 21; CRPD will <br />host the Southern California Skate Park Coalition meeting on January 26 at <br />Borchard Community Center; and a Chinese New Year celebration is <br />scheduled for January 31 at Goebel Senior Adult Center. <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />No report. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Ward reported that the RideOn event is January 27 at Ventura Farms and a <br />copy of the Governor's proposed budget is available. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />No report. <br />12. REQUEST FOR STATUS REPORTS AND ITEMS FOR SUBSEQUENT <br />AGENDAS <br />Lange requested a report on the feasibility of a second skate park in central <br />Thousand Oaks. <br />
