January 19, 2006 <br />Page 2 <br />Staff members furnished a comprehensive presentation of the Recreation and <br />Community Services Division, including its programs, classes, camps, special <br />events, brochures, cooperative programs, partnerships, grants, sponsorships, <br />donations, staff, volunteers,'facilities, community and professional involvement, <br />costs and awards that implement and validate its mission statement ".....to <br />provide quality leisure and community services, and to conduct activities and. <br />programs with enthusiasm and respect." <br />Benton thanked Recreation staff members for their efforts and the General <br />Manager, Board of Directors, Parks and Administration staff for their support. <br />Board members expressed their appreciation of the presentation and <br />recommended that it be made available to the local community and state and <br />national professional organizations. <br />The meeting was recessed at 8:05 pm and reconvened at 8:20 pm. <br />4.
