Minutes 12-14-05
Page 2
Guests presented an overview of their professional and philanthropic efforts and current
interests.
2. PUBLIC DISCUSSION
3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF OCTOBER 26, 2005
Hans requested that the word "excused" be included next to the names of those
absent last month.
it was moved by Hans, seconded by Doane, and carried to approve the
minutes as modified; i.e., indicate that those absent were excused.
4. OLD AND NEW BUSINESS
A. Appointment To The Goebel Commission To Fill C. Courant Vacancy
Giovenco referenced the documentation and noted that Martin Albert, John
Bravos, Gene Borghi, Ronald Clohessy, Dolores Cook, John Esson, Leni
Field, Alberta Horstin and James Seerden submitted applications to fill the
vacancy created by the resignation of C. Courant; and an election would
now be conducted. He noted that the vacancy created by A. Fiorita's
resignation will be part of the appointment process that begins in January.
Noting the obvious quality of the applicants, it was moved by Doane and
seconded by Milligan to table the election until the next meeting, to provide
a greater opportunity to learn about the applicants.
Benton stated that the motion was out of order. Doane withdrew his
motion.
Westland asked if the vacancy created by Morita's resignation could be
filled at this time. Staff explained that in September the Commission voted
to conduct a special election to fill one vacancy created by C. Courant's
resignation.
A ballot was cast, and Benton and Wiley collected the ballots.
After verification and confirmation of the ballot count by staff,
Glovenco announced that .lames Seerden was the nominee, and said
that all election results are contingent on consideration by the Conejo
Recreation and Park District Board of Directors.
