Hans discussed the Bus Trip Committee report of July 13. She noted that the committee passed the motion to pay for escort CPR certification cards, which would equal $6 each for 10 escorts; and agreed that before the next Bus Trip Committee meeting, staff will confer with the bookkeeper and a report showing gross income, total expenses, including refunds, and net income for each trip will be presented to the Bus Trip Committee at the next meeting. It was Commission consensus to approve the report and motion. It was suggested that in the future all abbreviations be explained. J. Programs Spatz noted three upcoming seminars: Assisted Living Options and Your Future, August 5; Long Term Care Options, August 12; and Health Screenings, August 27. She noted that 343 attendees participated in the Granny Family Science Night, July 22. Spatz discussed problems arising during a recent fishing trip. She commended Recreation Leader Patrick Larkin for his willingness to do everything necessary to ensure the success of the trip, and said that staff is looking for ways to prevent similar problems in the future. K. Historian Doane noted the newspaper article regarding the Granny Family Science Night on July 22. He highlighted the event, and said he would display the pictures after the meeting.
