maintain representation on the commission in a timely <br />manner. <br />In the event of a tie, a certified mail ballot containing only the <br />tied candidates shall be distributed to each ISD, Said certified <br />mail ballot shall indicate that each ISD shall return the ballot <br />by certified mail to the principal business address of the <br />Ventura County LAFCO and only those ballots received prior <br />to the close of business on the date designated shall be <br />considered valid and counted. Said designated date shall be no <br />later than 50 days from the date of the mailing. All ballots shall <br />remain sealed until opened in the presence of the LAFCO <br />Executive Officer and the Secretary/Recording Officer of the <br />ISD Selection Committee or his/her designee. In the event that <br />there were only two original candidates, or the second ballot <br />resulted in a tie, the successful candidate would be chosen by a <br />drawing conducted by the LAFCO Executive Officer and the <br />Secretary/Recording Officer or his/her designee of the ISD <br />Selection Committee with all candidates in attendance. <br />It is understood that all records of the election proceedings and <br />the ballots are public information and shall be treated as such. <br />Copies of the election results and notification of the elected <br />candidates shall be sent by certified mail to each ISD that <br />participates in, the election. <br />Revised and accepted by a majority of the Independent Special Districts, August 2, <br />2404. <br />96—:er <br />Al Fox, President <br />VCSDA <br />Timothy H.
