Management Services Division Report Lewanda reported that auditors are auditing the financial records of both SMMC (Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy) and MRCA (Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority), staff efforts continue, changes will be made where appropriate, SMMC plans to modify the SPA (joint powers authority) for clarity and procedural improvement, and auditors for MRCA indicate that the process is being refined. Lange indicated that all modifications and updates must be brought to the CRPD Board for approval. D. General Manager's Report Ward stated that the CRPD General Manager serves as the Financial Officer of MBCA. Continuing, Ward reported that he will attend a CARPD (California Association of Recreation and Park Districts) Legislative Committee meeting in Sacramento on February 20, and he highlighted the most recent Legislative Analyst Report. He said that he and Friedl met with representatives of the City of Westlake Village and City of Thousand Oaks, relative to the potential acquisition of 24 acres in the South Shore Hills area, and potential development of 13-14 acres of playfield space on the border between Westlake Village and Thousand Oaks, and he will keep the Board informed. Concluding, he noted the upcoming VCSDA (Ventura County Special Districts Association) annual dinner on March 2, and a tour of the Colorado River System on April 16-18 conducted by the Calleguas Municipal Water District, and asked if any Board members were interested. E. Directors' Reports Lange reported that he was pleased to represent the District at the recent dedication of the Peace Pole at Holy Trinity Church.
