NEW ITEMS <br />A. Aditya Festival Productions 2018 1K Oaks Music Festival at Conejo Creek South <br />Park <br />Friedl provided an overview of past communications with Aditya representatives <br />leading to a permit request denial and an appeal for reconsideration. <br />Hare reported that an ad hoc committee met with staff and representatives from Aditya <br />in September 2016. Staff and Aditya coordinated two additional meetings, one with <br />neighbors and one with the AYSO Region 9 Board to discuss the proposed event. <br />Hare also highlighted the City of Westlake Village Cultural Recreation Committee's <br />report at the city council meeting on September 28, 2016, regarding the Blue Sun <br />festival at the Westlake Golf Course in September 2016. <br />Hare reviewed the attached draft agreement, should the Board authorized the General <br />Manager to enter into said agreement. Hare and Friedl fielded questions and <br />comments from the Board. <br />Aditya representative, Barrett LaRoda, addressed the Board to discuss the Blue Sun <br />event at Westlake Golf Course, the benefits to the community, and how they will <br />mitigate the concerns raised by staff, neighbors and AYSO for an event at Conejo <br />Creek South. <br />Ron Plotkin, Founders Circle Chair of the Performing Arts Center, addressed the Board <br />in favor of holding the event at Conejo Creek South. Benefits stated included increased <br />revenue to local businesses, increased property values, and top shelf entertainment. <br />He stated that the Alliance of the Arts will be the primary charity for the event. <br />Aditya representatives fielded questions and comments from the Board. <br />Steven Ferry, past AYSO Commissioner, expressed concern that this would bring <br />another non -sports event to a park that was designed to support the community's <br />sports activities, and negatively impacting field refurbishment and AYSO schedules.
