less watering necessary each year. The Bio Char only needs to be done once and it lasts for over 100 years. I
know the retail price is about $20.00 a bag, but since you
will be buying it in bulk, I'm sure you can pay a lot less. This way you have not only eliminated 38 percent
from before you started taking out the grass, you will now have
another 20 to 25 percent saving of water on top of that. You can also place the Bio Char where the grass exits
by puting it into the ground too.
9. As for the possibly of water getting on to the sidewalks, streets and drains. you place the finger spray
sprinklers. move the sprinklers you already have if necessary, lower the pressure if necessary
and if you know its' going to be windy, we have a park attendant at the park every day. He can see what the
weather is every day and can turn off the sprinklers on those days
if its' going to be windy just in case. It's just simple and common sense.. Besides the sprinklers are put on at
9;00 pm and the water that goes in the grass disapates before 5:00 a.m, anyway.
10. I wonder if you looked into using the water pump from the golf course when they are not using it or not and
return the pump you bought? Or if you would consider moving the pump from next to bathrooms and
putting it on the back side of bathrooms on the Aramoor side. That way you can put back the grass area where
it's heavily used by the children and adults.
11. When you place wood chips, mulch, bushes, and rocks you are taking away the space for children, adults and
there pets.
12.1 know this park doesn't have a heavy permit schedule for the baseball fields, however I would like to point
out some the actives that take place at the park.
1. there are two home schools that use the park two days a week from 10.00 to 4:00.
2. several bicycle groups use the park 1 to 3 times weeks
3. There are several birthday parties, picnics, anniversaries and family get together every weekend and
during the week.
4. nursery age children and their parents and Nanny's are there very day.
5. baseball, soccer, softball, la cross, play Frisbee, etc. practice each weekend and after 3;00 pm during the
week.
6. the boy scouts use the park for a week each year
7. three day camps use the park during the summer,
8. tennis courts are used for lessons and individual players use the park every day from 8.00 a.m to 9:30 pm
9. religious groups use the park for there meetings and get togethers.
10. organizations, profit and non profit use the park for there actives
11. people walk there dogs every day.
12. children are able to ride their toy cars, scooters, bicycles and skate boards everyday.
13. adults come in the park for breakfast and lunch everyday so they can sit under a tree and on the grass.
14. Several exercise groups meet there every day under the trees and grass area along the front of the park
back to the base ball field and children play area
14. We realize that by applying for the funds for the removal of the grass and reclaimed water pump you have
incurred possibly having pay back some of the monies to
the state or water district. However this project was not discussed with the community that use the park,
nor did you look into alternative ideas, nor
did anyone do any investigation as to how much this park is used. We have given you ideas in order to
save another 25 percent beyond the 3 8 percent you did by removing section 1 over a year ago to the park.
By utilizing some of our ideas,we would be saving over a 50 percent every year and still keep our grass and
trees in
the park.Maybe they will allow you to keep your funds showing you are utilizing alternative methods to
save the use of the water..
z
