James Friedl
Subject: FW: Triunfo Park project and things to talk about in your meeting tomorrow
From: Linda Pore [mailto:ljpore@gmail.com]
Sent: Monday, January 30, 2017 7:33 PM
To: Joe Gibson <jgibson@crpd.org>; Susan Holt <sholt@crpd.org>; Chuck Huffer <chuffer@crpd.org>; James Friedl
<jfriedl@crpd.org>; Ed Jones <ejassoc@verizon.net>; George Lange <glange@crpd.org>
Subject: Re: Triunfo Park project and things to talk about in your meeting tomorrow
January 30, 2017
I would like to thank you for taking the time and hearing a lot of our concerns and making some changes to the
park. However I have some additional suggestions and
comments that I would hope you consider before the next meeting on February 2, 2017.
1.I would like to point out that Triunfo Park is a Community Park, where children and adults go every day. The
park is suppose to have grass & trees, eating areas, playground area, tennis courts, baseball, cricket,
badminton, freebies, la cross, volley, ball, basket ball, soccer, football, bicycling, etc. Grass needs to be next to
the trees
so there is shade and you can sit, play, read, exercise, etc, YOU CAN'T SIT ON WOOD CHIPS, BUSHES,
MULCH and ROCKS.
2. The park should not be an obstacle course, having wood chips, bushes, mulch & large dangerous rocks that
eliminate water from the trees. These large rocks are an attraction
to the children, and it's a accident waiting to happen. where they will slip and fall. ( a premises liability)
3. According to the information you gave us, we were advised that only the eating and play area with the
equipment near the restrooms needed to have 12 feet away from grass watered by the reclaims water. So please
put back the grass beyond the 12 feet. (ti's currently 20 to 30 feet)
4. The entrance to the park on Tamarack Street and all along that street is heavily used by children and adults on
both sides for workouts, playing games and taking chairs
and relaxing on both sides of the parking lot. There are all the trees there for shade. Please put back the grass
along the street and the entrance and going back to the
baseball area where the teams play too. Please remove the dangerous rocks and put the grass back'
5. At the corner of Tamarack and Triunfo Cyn is where the bus picks up the children and drops them off from
school. The children use that area to sit and do there homework
and play. The bicyclist uses that area for water andstop area. Please put back the grass there too. Please take
out the rocks
6. I understand you are going to have drains in the middle of the park. You can put in finger spray sprinklers so
the water doesn't go in there and maybe just put in about 2 feet
of mulch around them. Please put back the grass under the trees like to was before throughout the park and
the back parking lot area. We utilize the park. Remove
the large rocks there too.
7. Please allow the grass to be put back on Aramoor Street and at the back of park next to the parking lot and
behind the tennis courts..
S. If you will buy the Bio Char( organic and natural pellets) before you place the grass back under the ground, it
will absorb the water and retain it so there will be a 20 to 25 per
