MISSION AND VISION STATEMEN YS <br />MISSION STATEMENT <br />To enrich the quality of life for our community by preserving and enhancing recreational <br />opportunities, parks and open space. <br />STATEMENT OR PHILOSOPHY <br />The Conejo Recreation and Park District is a public service agency created by the people <br />through the use of governmental entity known as a special district strtleture for the pur- <br />pose of providing recreation opportunities, educating for the proper use of leisure time, and <br />conserving the recreational resources of the area. <br />As an arm of the government, a major responsibility shall be to serve as a catalyst for commu- <br />nity effort by employing the tools and powers of the district, promoting inter -agency cooper- <br />ation, and constructing and operating facilities, These functions vdti& are beyond the reach <br />of individual or private organization effort. <br />The district will complement private or commercial recreation efforts and will conduct its <br />business in a manner which integrates with "- _ __ _- .._ those efforts to provide <br />the community and the individual with a complete set of recreational opportunities. <br />The objective of the district shall be to provide recreation opportunities for residents of all <br />ages, abilities and eeconomic statuses. all eitizens, with ornphasis en youth and family orient <br />ed prograrns and facilities since that area rettirms the greatest benefit te the eemmtlnity <br />its tax 11 Ivestment. <br />VISION STATEMENT <br />To serve our community and be recognized as a top recreation and park district in the <br />nation we must: <br />• Be financially stable; <br />o Be the primary source of leisure activities and services; <br />® Match our programs and facilities to demographic needs; <br />o Distinguish CRPD as a leading partner with other agencies and organizations for <br />recreation, park and open space needs; <br />Be an employer of choice; <br />Evaluate and leverage emerging opportunities, while maintaining our facilities and <br />infrastructure; <br />Update the District's Strategic Plan annually; <br />Inform and educate about recreation, parks and open space; <br />Engage in, and promote, environmentally responsible and sustainable facilities and <br />business practices. <br />
