In this project, the project is converting the <br />existing the irrigation system to a reclaimed water system. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Based on the information provided, staff respectfully provides the above recommendations, <br />replacing the recommendations from the original Board Item 9. A. <br />Upon approval from the Board and completion of the project, Triunfo Community Park would be <br />the second District park to be irrigated by reclaimed water. In July 2016, a similar project at North <br />Ranch Neighborhood Park was completed and estimated to reduce the District's reliance on <br />potable water by 9,000 units (6.7 million gallons) and save $8,000 annually; the Triunfo project <br />would realize similar reductions and savings. <br />Reclaimed Water Irrigation and Turf Renovation <br />A Notice Inviting Bids was advertised in the Ventura County Star, Construction Bidboard, Inc., <br />Builder's Notebook, Ventura County Contractor's Association, Inc., and posted on the District's <br />website. Ten interested bidders attended the mandatory pre-bid meeting held at the site on <br />Tuesday, October 25th. FS Contractors is a qualified Contractor, <br />with an A - General Engineering Contractor, C-8 — Concrete, and C-27 - Landscaping license, <br />and has performed projects of similar size and scope including several projects with the District. <br />Booster Pump Purchase <br />California Water Company is bringing their reclaimed water line to the park from Westlake Blvd. <br />and due to low pressure at the end of the line, a booster pump is necessary at the park to provide <br />proper irrigation for the system. <br />The new system will include two variable frequency drive 10 hp pumps, providing flexibility and <br />simplicity in irrigation station programming, increasing efficiency and effectiveness.
