NEW ITEMS <br /> <br /> A. Rotary Club of Westlake Village Oakheart Country Music Festival 2017 <br /> Agreement and Permit Conditions, Conejo Creek Park <br /> <br /> Hare reported the Rotary Club of Westlake Village’s Oakheart Country Music <br />Festival initially took place in the summer of 2012. Since then, noise problems, <br />which were evident in 2013, have been addressed, and led to successful events in <br />2014, 2015 and 2016. This year’s Festival is scheduled for June 3rd; the Park is <br />also reserved Friday, June 2nd for set up and on Sunday and Monday, June 4th and <br />5th for cleanup. Aside from the dates, the agreement remains the same as last <br />year’s. Hare answered Board member’s questions. <br /> <br /> Bryan Hynes, Thousand Oaks, thanked the Board of Directors for their support of <br />the event. He reported that last year 300 volunteers were involved and over <br />$44,000 was raised. <br /> <br /> Steve Kerrigan, Thousand Oaks, President of the Westlake Village Rotary Club and <br />Chair of the Oakheart Festival, expressed support for the event and offered to <br />answer any questions. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Holt, seconded by Jones, and carried 4-0 to authorize <br />General Manager to execute the Rotary Club of Westlake Village Oakheart <br />Country Music Festival (OAKHEART) Agreement for 2017. <br /> <br />B. Thousand Oaks Rotary Club Chili Cook-Off – 2017 Annual Agreement and <br /> Permit Conditions, Conejo Creek Park <br /> <br />Hare reported this event was moved to Conejo Creek North last year so as to <br />lessen the impact on the fields at Conejo Creek South. This year, the Cook-Off will <br />be held on Sunday April 30th; all agreement terms and conditions remain the same <br />as last year with the exception of the dates. <br /> <br />David Butcher, Newbury Park, Chair of the 2017 Thousand Oaks Rotary Club Chili <br />Cook Off, reported the change of venue this year was a success and the event <br />raised $60,000. He thanked Hare, CRPD staff and the Board of Directors for their <br />support and answered Board Members’ questions.
