November 3, 2016
Page 2

Hare reported, as Friedl is absent from this meeting, it is necessary to continue this
item to the next Board meeting on November 17th.

It was moved by Holt, seconded by Jones, and carried 4-0 to continue this
item to the November 17th Board of Directors meeting.

9. NEW ITEMS

A. Rotary Club of Westlake Village Oakheart Country Music Festival 2017
Agreement and Permit Conditions, Conejo Creek Park

Hare reported the Rotary Club of Westlake Village’s Oakheart Country Music
Festival initially took place in the summer of 2012. Since then, noise problems,
which were evident in 2013, have been addressed, and led to successful events in
2014, 2015 and 2016. This year’s Festival is scheduled for June 3rd; the Park is
also reserved Friday, June 2nd for set up and on Sunday and Monday, June 4th and
5th for cleanup. Aside from the dates, the agreement remains the same as last
year’s. Hare answered Board member’s questions.

Bryan Hynes, Thousand Oaks, thanked the Board of Directors for their support of
the event. He reported that last year 300 volunteers were involved and over
$44,000 was raised.

Steve Kerrigan, Thousand Oaks, President of the Westlake Village Rotary Club and
Chair of the Oakheart Festival, expressed support for the event and offered to
answer any questions.

It was moved by Holt, seconded by Jones, and carried 4-0 to authorize
General Manager to execute the Rotary Club of Westlake Village Oakheart
Country Music Festival (OAKHEART) Agreement for 2017.

B. Thousand Oaks Rotary Club Chili Cook-Off – 2017 Annual Agreement and
Permit Conditions, Conejo Creek Park

Hare reported this event was moved to Conejo Creek North last year so as to
lessen the impact on the fields at Conejo Creek South. This year, the Cook-Off will
be held on Sunday April 30th; all agreement terms and conditions remain the same
as last year with the exception of the dates.

David Butcher, Newbury Park, Chair of the 2017 Thousand Oaks Rotary Club Chili
Cook Off, reported the change of venue this year was a success and the event
raised $60,000. He thanked Hare, CRPD staff and the Board of Directors for their
support and answered Board Members’ questions.
