CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />October 20, 2016 <br />7:00 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Huffer called the meeting to order at 7:06 pm and Halt led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Gibson, Holt, Huffer .tones, Lange <br />Directors Absent: <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Callis, Hare and Lewanda <br />and Executive Assistant Reynders <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Conejo Senior Volunteer Program (CSVP) <br />Tanaka, CSVP Director, introduced himself and thanked his staff for all their support. He <br />provided an overview of the last year's activities at CSVP. Participants logged oder <br />180,000 volunteer hours. CSVP provides oversight over other programs and services <br />including the CSVP boutique, the Conejo Creels Grill, and tax counseling for the elderly. <br />The new CSVP Newsletter, the 'Volunteer Voice", is available on the District's website. <br />Tanaka answered Board member's questions and was thanked for his informative <br />presentation. <br />Equestrian Trails Inc. #37 (ETI) <br />Sharyn Henry, President of ETI #37, stated the organization's mission is to promote <br />equestrians, good horsemanship and to protect the horse community. She expressed <br />great appreciation for ETI's partnership with CRPD. Highlights of the past year, which she <br />shared in a PowerPoint presentation, include completion of the dressage arena, a new <br />sign and a dressage arena judges stand to be used for competition — this last project is <br />being built in partnership with the Boy Scouts and should be completed this month. The <br />Day of the Horse will now occur every other year, beginning in May 2017. Future plans <br />include maintenance of the current facility along with some painting projects, adding sand, <br />and adding running water and a sprinkler system to the dressage and trail areas. Board <br />members thanked Henry for her presentation. <br />
