Holt, Director
Chuck Huffer, Director
GENERAL MANAGER EMERITUS
Tex Ward
FROM: Jim Friedl, General Man U
SUBJECT: Consideration of Res -lut s' or Landscaping Maintenance District (LIVID)
92-1 and LIVID 94-1
RECOMMENDATION
1. Adopt Resolutions 041714-B, 041714-C, 041714-D for LIVID 92-1 (Rancho Conejo)
2. Adopt Resolutions 041714-E, 041714-F, 041714-G for LIVID 94-1 (Dos Vientos)
DISCUSSION
Assessment District law requires the annual preparation of an Engineer's Report for the
purpose of identifying improvements and levying assessments for the maintenance of those
improvements. Six resolutions are being presented for your consideration, three for LIVID 92-1
(Rancho Conejo) and three for LIVID 94-1 (Dos Vientos.)
The three resolutions for each LIVID initiate the annual levy proceedings, preliminarily approve
the Engineer's Report, and lastly, declare the intention of the District to levy the assessments,
setting the date, time and place for the required Public Hearing. The resolutions for each
District should be adopted serially.
The park maintenance assessment is a partial assessment for overall maintenance and
operating (M&O) costs, and is based upon the differential between ad valorem property tax
received and attributable to park maintenance and the actual maintenance costs. Both LMDs
include a capital improvement project fund.
The attached resolution provides for a noticed Public Hearing of this Board on May 22, 2014 at
7:30 p.m., to consider the ordering of the improvements and the levy of the proposed
assessments.
403 West Hillcrest Drive I Thousand Oaks, CA 91360-4223
(805) 495-6471 FAX: (805) 497-3199 Email: parks@crpd.org
