Minutes 10-23-13 <br />Page 2 <br />4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 25, 2013 <br />Seerden asked for a motion to approve the minutes of the September <br />meeting. <br />Basilio noted that Item 5-A, paragraph two, reads ...program (Bingo) is <br />conducted nine days each month; she said it should read program is <br />conducted three times per week. <br />It was moved by Cleary, seconded by Blum and passed unanimously to <br />approve the minutes of the September meeting as amended with Item 5-A, <br />paragraph two to read ...program is conducted three times per week. <br />5. OLD AND NEW BUSINESS <br />A. Welcome New Commissioners <br />Seerden welcomed Anna Colilles-Fuentes and Cindy Schreiber to the <br />Goebel Senior Center Commission. He noted an orientation will be held <br />with them to acquaint them with the Commission. He recommended that <br />they each familiarize themselves with the various Commission committees <br />to decide which they may want to participate on. <br />B. Bus Trip Escort Discussion <br />Seerden explained there is an extensive training process for volunteer Bus <br />Trip Escorts. <br />McAdam, in response to Seerden, said that currently, 18 applications have <br />been received, and the deadline for applications is October 31. He said a <br />roster of 12 escort candidates will be established, and interviews will be held <br />the end of November. Additionally, he said he would like to enlist the help of <br />a couple Commissioners to be involved with the interview process. He <br />explained that the training will take place beginning in December and <br />completed by March. <br />Seerden recommended establishing an ad hoc bus trip committee which he <br />will chair; Bengtson, Colilles-Fuentes and Martinich volunteered to <br />participate on the committee. <br />
