fields and in the parking lot. The stage and vendor tents would still be on the sports fields.
As of this writing, we are still discussing options with Conejo Valley Days (CVD) on a modified
layout which would put the carnival ride portion of CVD in the parking lot.
To accommodate all of the CVD rides in the parking lot, facility modifications would be
necessary to support CUD and other community events which utilize both the parking lot, as
well as the sports turf, for community events such as removable fence sections, modification to
the curb and sidewalk between the parking lot and fields, and potential removal of some of the
islands within the parking lot along with slurry and restriping. Staff believes these facility
modifications may benefit other future community -wide events while preserving the sports turf.
Parking and shuttle service from other portions of Conejo Creek Park (or beyond) must factor
into any solution for large events.
Staff requests that whichever members participate on the ad hoc committee be available to
meet several times in the next few weeks to discuss large community events at Conejo Creek
Park and whether to recommend facility modifications to the full Board of Directors so that if
the Board decides to make the improvements, they can be completed by Spring 2016.
STRATEGIC PLAN COMPLIANCE
Meets 2095 Strategic Plan Element 2.3: Maintain the 10 -Year Capital Improvement Plan.
Regularly update the 10 -Year Capital Improvement Plan to prioritize projects and effectively
plan and allocate future resources.
