QMP NU'OMM
GENERAL MANAGER
Jim Friedl
DATE: July 16, 2015
TO: Board of Directors
FROM: Jim Friedl, General Maneon
SUBJECT: Ventura County Area Aging
Services for the Senior Nutrition Program
RECOMMENDATION
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Ed Jones, Chair
Chuck Huffer, Vice Chair
George Lange, Director
Susan L. Holt, Director
Joe Gibson, Director
GENERAL MANAGER EMERITUS
Tex Ward
Agreement for the Purchase of
Adopt Resolution 071615-A authorizing the General Manager to sign agreement with Ventura
County Area Agency on Aging for the Senior Nutrition Program.
DISCUSSION
At the May 21, 2015 Board meeting, staff provided an update on the proposed Senior Cafe at
the Goebel Adult Community Center. Staff reported that an agreement was reached with the
Ventura County Area Agency on Aging to incorporate the Senior Nutrition Program into the cafe.
Attached is an agreement that transitions the District's relationship with the County Area Agency
on Aging from a contractor to a vendor. The county will reimburse the District $7.00 for every
Senior Nutrition meal served at the cafe. This $7.00 will be passed on the cafe operator for
preparing and serving the meal.
Staff is working to secure the permits to begin the remodel. If work begins in August, then we
would be looking at opening the cafe sometime in October.
During this period prior to the cafe opening, the District will operate the Senior Nutrition Program
and keep the $7.00 per meal to off -set the District's cost.
Respectfully submitted,
Karen Lindsey, Administrator
Recreation and Community Services
Attachments: Ventura County Area Agency on Aging Agreement for the Purchase of Services
403 West Hillcrest Drive I Thousand Oaks, CA 91360-4223
(805) 495-6471 FAX: (805) 497-3199 Email: parks@crpd.org
