However, because of its age and other
factors, the existing pump needs to be replaced and upgraded.
The new system will include three smaller variable frequency drive 7.5 hp pumps rather
than a single 20 hp pump. The three pump system will provide greater flexibility and
simplicity in irrigation station programming, increasing efficiency and effectiveness.
Additionally, the new system will be able to ramp up pressure slowly and thus
minimizing stress and potential breaks to the irrigation system. Finally, the quality of turf
will improve as well as reducing water consumption at the site.
Staff is working with Southern California Edison for potential rebates and incentives for
the project.
Purchasing Process
In accordance with the District's purchasing policy, staff considers the purchase of a
booster pump and installation services a General Services Maintenance Work and
items between $30,000.01 and $45,000.00 require Board approval.
403 West Hillcrest Drive I Thousand Oaks, CA 91360-4223
(805) 495-6471 FAX: (805) 497-3199 Email: parks@crpd.org
