November 20, 1997 <br />Page 5 <br />prevention program has been instituted, the seeding at the Lang Ranch site <br />was postponed due to a water main break, and seeding is scheduled for <br />November 22. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Washington noted Spirit Night activities at the Teen Center and highlighted <br />various upcoming events including The Secret Garden presented by the <br />Young Artists Ensemble, the Silver Starlight Ball, and the Rancho Conejo <br />Playfield Dedication on November 22. <br />In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, Sorensen said that all homeowners <br />associations in the Rancho Conejo area were notified of the dedication, the <br />construction of the second phase of the park is expected to begin within a <br />few months, and the Master Plan will be on display at the dedication. <br />C. Administration Division Report <br />No report. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Ward referenced the memo noting the CARPD spring conference. He <br />reported that he has again been asked to serve on the CARPD Legislative <br />Committee, it is expected that the administrative review meeting of the <br />Waverly issue will be postponed, and at the recent COSCA meeting, COSCA <br />and MRCA approved the Broome Ranch wetlands easement, and considered <br />various Two Winds Ranch issues. <br />Lange and Gillette stated their concern and disappointment with the Broome <br />Ranch easement and its potential negative impact on a full -par golf course. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />Gillette stated that Califomia Lutheran University and Santa Susana <br />Repertory Company will co-sponsor Shakespeare in the Park during the <br />summer months, and at a recent meeting Lang Ranch Corporation senior <br />management lauded Sorensen. <br />
