Park Division Report <br />Sorensen reported that: Venco Western has done an outstanding job on the <br />Lang Ranch park site, the area will shortly be seeded, as soon as seeding is <br />accomplished, the entire area will be enclosed in a six foot chain link fence, <br />and a dedication will take place within 90 days of the seeding. <br />Continuing, Sorensen said that construction on Newbury Gateway Park is <br />expected to begin by December 1, but the exact dates for the start of <br />construction on the two Dos Vientos park sites have not yet been identified, <br />In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, Sorensen said that when Newbury <br />Gateway Park was rebid for construction, the bid award was approximately <br />$30,000 lower than that of the initial bid, and nothing was deleted from the <br />design. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Washington reported that a youth swap meet is scheduled for November 7 at <br />Thousand Oaks Community Center, and numerous special events and <br />camps are planned for the remainder of the year. He said that the Rancho <br />Conejo dedication is scheduled for November 22, additional invitations are <br />available, and he highlighted the activities planned. <br />In response to Holt's inquiry, Washington said that usage of the portable <br />skate board facilities has been good, and an evaluation will be made of the <br />skate board hours at the Teen Center because of the impact to the Goebel <br />Center. <br />
